Edit: For those of you who are still having trouble connecting to XForgery, try to flush your DNS. This should resolve any issues.

DNS servers finally decided to finish up and I'm uploading the files through FTP right now. :D

I'll wake up in the middle of the night to see if I can't get some progress moving on the database. It's too large for a conventional upload. :X

Oh yeah. The server plan came with a free domain name... so I chose to get www.blamerst.com where this blog will be hosted from here on out. <3

I have access to the control panel, FTP, and everything that I would need to get the party started. Working on uploading everything right now. No idea how long it will take but it's making my computer unbearably slow.

If all goes well, we'll be online tonight, but with DNS servers taking sometimes up to 24-48 hours to update, it might be a while before everyone has access again.

After trying to call the new host a few times around 9:02 and getting nothing but a the annoying line busy sound, I waited a few minutes and called back. I got through to an agent immediately and continued with the account verification process that they requested of me in the e-mail.

I'll have access to the cPanel in around an hour to start uploading/installing. We'll be back online today. :)

I just got the e-mail from the new server provider instructing me to call them in order to authenticate the account. However, their business hours are from 9AM to 5PM EST... an hour late. :X

After spending a lot of time deciding/downloading (took me more than 6 hours to download backups) I decided to switch hosting companies for our server. The order was just put through and now I'm awaiting an e-mail so I can log into their control panel and begin to upload everything.

Can take up to 24 hours to receive this e-mail... Earliest time that I think we'll be back online is mid-tomorrow.

Upgrading.

Alright. So as most of you already know, XForgery has been getting plenty of database errors, the cause of which is us. We've been taxing the server with ridiculous amounts of usage compared to the averages and as such, we're being forced to upgrade.

Why didn't I tell you sooner? Sometime between Saturday and Sunday my phone line went dead. My phone line provides me internet. I received the e-mail with a 48 hour notice late yesterday afternoon and I have ~21 hours left at the time of this posting to get all of XForgery backed up, call customer support and move us to the new server.

Busy day for me.

Alright. I got ahold of Billing instantly this time, no waiting for me and got connected to Ben. After explaining the situation and giving the account details, I find out that this man knows of HALO?!?!?!?! That's right. He got everything set up for me faster and more efficiently than the other loser that I connected to earlier.

Alright, just got off the phone with LunarPages billing support and they're directing me to PayPal's support to see if they can reverse the transaction or something to get everything moving faster.

Getting into contact with PayPal now. Fun stuff.

I'm currently on hold with the billing support right now, hoping to get everything fixed faster than the 3-5 days that was told to me earlier.

Bills-o-bills. What are we to do about our bills.

I received an e-mail this morning at 3 AM notifying me of the suspension of the access to the server because there was a billing error. I quickly went to the customer panel and hit "Send Payment" and now we're stuck waiting 3-5 business days before it'll be processed.

Yay. <_<

So now we wait...

So... mysteriously the site went down... and just like it went down, it came back up.

I don't know what's up, but I cannot access any part of Xforgery. I'm getting database errors and shouldn't be.

Not sure what caused this, but I think it might have to do with the XF Points system that was added recently. Hopefully nothing is lost. :X

Finally, tech support replied this morning around 11:30 my time, but I've had family over and was forced away from my computer until recently to get the site back online. I wasn't sure if they took weekends off for everyone, but it was sure one hell of a wait.

Boards are now back online. If anything looks buggy, let me know!

Tech support, oh tech support... why must you delay us?

It took them 17 hours to respond to my ticket... and all that they did was tell me that they had to transfer it to a different location (I didn't do anything wrong, they want to be able to pre-screen some of the stuff) and wait for another reply. An hour and a half later, they finally get me someone who knows what they're doing and requests for the final bits of information to get us back up.... 18 and a half hours of waiting for a question.

I've now supplied the tech support with all of the information that they need and haven't received a supply, yet, (nearly 11 hours after replying) but I'm optimistic about the situation. Sadly, we have to just wait for another response before I can finish up and get XF back online.

It's all just a waiting game...

After uploading the database files to the webserver (not importing them, because I keep getting errors every time I try) I created a wonderful ticket to get someone from tech support to upload it for me while I was at school. Thirteen hours later and I have received no acknowledgment from them.

I'll end up making some fun phone calls, here in a bit, after I try some last resort techniques. :(

For those that don't understand the situation, or don't want to read all of the other posts to be caught up, we needed to downgrade the server to make sure that we could pay for it each month. The account was downgraded already and our old server is already marked for termination and the domains are pointing to the new server (hence database errors). After I downgraded I've had problems uploading everything from the old server back to the new server and have already attempted contacting the technical support but they have yet to respond.

Uploading sucks.

I've been uploading a file to the site for a couple hours now, and speed is picking up, but I've hit a couple roadblocks in my way that stops me from progressing until this one upload is complete. We'll be waiting, again, for something that's going a lot slower than anticipated. :(

I have a meeting to go to after school tomorrow, so if I cannot get it up in the morning, I'll do my best to get excused to be here for you guys but not sure if I'll be able to miss yet another one.

I've returned home to find that I have to work on reducing the size of the database upload (even though it's lower than the maximum?) so I'm working to install the databases back in sections and not one HUGE file. Hopefully I'll make more progress like this.

I'm now awake and have access to all of the pages that I need to finish this up and am starting on importing databases. I'm off to eat and finish getting ready for school while the databases are uploading, so I'll update you later.

Still 5,800+ files to upload and I have school tomorrow. Not a good match. I'll wake up a little earlier to get things underway more, but we're kind of stuck until I get out of school and come back home.

With now more than 6000 files needing to be uploaded to the new server, it might take a while. Even without being able to get to the new server from the domain name, I can do this... and wait more while these files upload...

Everyone should be able to post regularly and get on their marry way tomorrow, Thursday at latest (delays are from the domain names now having to recognize the new server).

Good news, too, straight from the Billing department: "There was no charge since there was credit left in your current billing cycle. You now have a remaining credit of $33.38 which can be used for future billings." First month paid for? Why yes!

The downgrade is complete, however we have to wait for DNS changes on the domains and other fun stuff. I'll be changing that shortly to point to the new server, but the changes won't occur instantly and can take as long as 48 hours (depending on where you live).

We're not completely online, yet, I need to upload the files to the new server and other fun stuff.

I'm not sure that the site will be able to go back online tonight. I've had the ticket system go anywhere from 15 minutes to over a day before a reply. I was hoping that the Billing phone support would make it go faster, but we must now wait.

On a side note, I'm catching up on a lot of stuff that I've missed since my absence and I'm on Skype if anyone wants to talk: evil_ninja_302.

I've gotten a hold of one of their billing representatives this time around, and he's working his employee magic to get the situation under control... while I wait on hold... again.

-Minute later update. All that he could do was create a ticket to process through the chain because we're at a dedicated server right now. Hopefully it'll have a lot better response time than the day+ that I've had before....

Alright, so we're in good shape. I've finished the downloads two hours earlier than last time and now I'm gathering the information and opening the pages that I'll need for when I contact billing. I'll be calling them in roughly 5-10 minutes.

Turns out that the Billing Phone support for our server host closed 9 minutes ago, just as I was getting all of the information ready... they closed on me. Looks like I'll have to re-schedule this one.
